Your wedding is an act of worship and praise.
We believe that marriage is a gift from God, and we celebrate it as a holy event in the life of the couple and their guests. We are excited you are thinking about using First Church as your place of marriage!
The lush grounds and beautiful background at First Church provide an incredible setting for your wedding.
MINISTERS - Our minister will spend time with you prior to your wedding to build a relationship that will add meaning to your ceremony.
ORGAN -The present 56 rank organ in the First United Methodist Church sanctuary is one of the most tonally complete in Arizona, with complete flute, reed and principal choruses in all divisions.
ORGANIST - Our organist, Jonathan Gregoire, graduated Salutatorian and received the coveted Young Artist Award from Interlochen Arts Academey in 2006. He is a member of the American Guild of Organists. He will gracefully tailor each piece of music so that it fits in perfectly with your wedding ceremony.
WEDDING COORDINATOR - Our wedding coordinator has many years of experience and will guide you through the planning of your ceremony, be there for your rehearsal and wedding ceremony, and oversee the ceremonial details.
BRIDAL LOUNGE - The Lounge will provide comfort and privacy for you and your bridal party as you prepare for your special event.

Wedding Spaces
THE SANCTUARY
The beauty of the our main worship space with its stained glass windows, long aisle and pipe organ serve as the perfect backdrop for your special day. The main stained glass window reaches 23' high by 15' wide and provides beautiful, natural light. There are also twenty seven square stained glass windows that line the inside walls of the sanctuary bringing additional, rich color. The sanctuary can hold up to 450 people on the main floor and an additional 100 in the balcony and can also be designed to create an intimate setting.
THE JONES CHAPEL
The chapel offers a more intimate setting and seats up to 75 people. It features beautiful stained glass windows that depict different Christian doctrines. There is a piano in the room for special ceremony music.
Reception Space
Asbury Hall is an excellent place to hold your reception after the ceremony. There are seven beautiful stained glass windows in the hall that were imported from Germany in 1896. It also features hard wood floors and plenty of space for dining and dancing.

What about the wedding rehearsal?
A wedding rehearsal is required for all sanctuary weddings and usually last about an hour. Rehearsals are normally scheduled for the afternoon or evening before the wedding. At the rehearsal, the wedding coordinator will go over all the details of seating, ushering, and placement of the wedding party.
Meeting with the pastor
Premarital counseling is required for couples being married at First Church. It is recommended that the first session be scheduled at least three months prior to the wedding. At this meeting, the pastor will get to know the couple and explore the couple’s understanding of marriage, as well as discuss plans for the service. Following this preliminary meeting, the pastor may schedule additional meetings with the couple.

Fees
Fees for weddings at First Church defray the actual costs of maintenance, utilities and all of the personnel involved in providing a wedding. The wedding coordinator will advise you of current costs. A $200 deposit is required to be paid to the church office in order to confirm your wedding date. All costs must be paid to the church office in full four weeks prior to the wedding rehearsal. An honorarium for the pastor is included in the wedding costs unless other- wise indicated.
